カーディシャン（Cadician）という言葉を作ったのが，エド マーロー（Ed Marlo：1913-1991 米国シカゴ）です。
カードマジックの専門家であり，60を超える著作で，2000以上のトリックを発表しました。
おなじみのティルトも彼の発明ですが，同時代に活躍したダイ バーノンもおなじ技法を考えていたようです。

ちなみに彼の職業は機械工でしたが，8時間かかる工程を機械改造して1時間に短縮し，残り7時間でこっそりカード練習したとの逸話があります。
上司は8時間働いていると思い込んでいました笑
また「ダイヤ７」がお気に入りカードで，ジャケットには常に「多枚数のダイヤ７」が入っているのを，妻が見ていました笑
